Tour Description

The Qhapaq Ñan was a network of stone roads built by the Incas across the entire Tawantinsuyo, so impressive that they amazed the Spanish invaders themselves. The Inca Trail traveled today is a section beginning in Ollantaytambo and ending at Machu Picchu.

The trek lasts about 4 days, passing through Wayllabamba, Warmiwañusca, and Wiñay Wayna before reaching Machu Picchu. Permits are limited (500 per day, closed in February), reservations should be made 6 months in advance, and the dry season runs from May to September. Along the trail, travelers can enjoy cloud forest landscapes, native flora and fauna, and archaeological sites such as Runkuraqay.
